Something very exciting is emerging in the arena of health care. It is called BodyTalk System, and originally came from New Zealand via an Australian chiropractor and acupuncturist named Veltheim. BodyTalk is a blending of many modalities including Reiki, acupuncture meridians, breathwork, cranio-sacral therapy, homeopathy and more. It works on the assumption that illness occurs because communication has broken down between certain areas of the body. The body can heal itself if that communication is re-established. The "innate wisdom" of the body knows in what sequence things must be healed. The parts being linked or the order of linkage may make no logical sense to the observer, but it does to the innate wisdom of the individual client’s body. Using muscle testing, the practitioner silently asks a series of questions of the client’s innate by lifting the client’s relaxed wrist. The wrist will either lift or not, depending on if the answer is yes or no. These silent questions begin with asking permission to do the work. The questions then go on to ask which specific area the innate wisdom wishes to "balance" first.
Balancing usually involves touching the parts of the body that wish to re-establish communication. The client is told what it is that wants to be balanced. For example, if the left foot wishes to communicate better with the small lobe of the liver, the client would place one hand on the left foot and the practitioner would place a hand over the small lobe of the liver. The connection between liver and foot then would be made via the practitioner "tapping" the client’s head and sternum while the two parts are held. During this time the client is doing very deep breathing, inhaling and exhaling completely. This tapping goes on for about two full breath cycles, and then the client’s body is allowed to "download" the re-connection, before going on to the next linkage.
Many of the links do seem odd to the logical mind. Yet as long as the protocol is followed, linking the "parts" that wish to be linked may very well cause surprising healings to occur. Here are some examples of actual experiences with BodyTalk.
At the beginning of her treatment, Claire was on anti-depressants and prone to outbursts at her husband and children. She was lethargic and sad. The first balancing was of the spheno-basiliar connection in the cranium. This involved her placing a finger on the roof of her mouth with one hand, and the other hand on the bridge of her nose. She was tapped out, and her body indicated it did not want anything else done that day. Claire lay down and slept for two hours before she was able to go home. She immediately felt better. Two days later, after consulting with her doctor, she began going off her anti-depressants. Claire came for a few more sessions. She is no longer on medication.
Donald came for a session filled with anxiety. He had been laid off from an executive position in one of the big companies in Houston. Donald was balanced first for hydration to his chest. Second, all the nerves in his body linked to nerves coming from the brain, and to money, and to the root chakra. Then his spleen was balanced. He left deeply relaxed. The next day Donald, who had been out of work for six months with no job interviews, had two serious interviews and later received offers from both. He came for two more sessions, and a few other things were balanced as well. Donald is now happily working.
Kianna is a paralegal with a large law firm. She has had two experiences with Body
Talk which merit reporting. One experience involved releasing accumulated toxins linked to the liver. She went straight home and had a bowel function exactly like the kind one experiences during a liver cleanse procedure. In another session her body announced, via muscle testing, that it wanted to balance an event, which occurred at age 22 in a specific month. Amazed, she stated that this was the very month she became pregnant, and no one, not even her own father, seemed to be supportive of her situation. Her feelings of abandonment, particularly from her dad, were still with her. We balanced this and she experienced tears, but reported the following week that for the first time she is now able to truly trust her new husband. She thinks the event at age 22 was connected to her inability to trust men.
Jake, a 28 year old plumber, had his body balanced for two viruses. For the next two days he had a fever of 102 degrees and unusual smelling breath and urine. Since then he has been full of energy and has begun to put on weight, which had been a challenge for him.
The above are just a small sample of the experiences people have had. One might wonder who practices BodyTalk System? Medical doctors, acupuncturists, psychotherapists, chiropractors, physical therapists, dentists, massage therapists, and nurses are being trained to do BodyTalk. It is very popular in Europe, Canada, California, and Atlanta, as well as in Florida, where Dr. Veltheim now lives. This healing method has only been on the planet since the mid-1990’s, and so is quite new to everyone. It will be quite interesting to follow its spread and development.
