December Thoughts
Books, Candida cure, essential oils, BodyTalk update
I wish to share with you all some things that you might find interesting.

One of the best books I have read in a long time I read this year:  "The Field," by Lynn McTaggart. The book brings science and spirituality even closer together, in a coherent and intelligent way.  McTaggart is a science jouralist who writes beautifully and brings to our attention the most cutting-edge research that has occurred in the last 20 or so years, and been embraced (or smushed) by the scientific community.  (One of my pet peeves is how many scientists are highly trained, yet fail to develop any "scientific curiosity."  The attitude of "that is ridiculous because no one I now would believe it," does not belong anywhere in scientific inquiry.)  Science flourishes in an atmosphere of freedom.  Anyway, I highly recommend this book.  The writing flows and the information is exciting.

Another interesting book I have just started is about amino acids and how they can be used to treat addictions, including food addiction, alcohol, and mood disorders, etc.  The title is "The Mood Cure," by Julia Ross.

A beautiful audio recording which my sister, Lisa,  introduced to me is "Prayer" by Soundings of the Planet.  Many spiritual leaders from several different traditions have led songful prayers on this recording, including the Dalai Lama.

All the above can be  found at Amazon.com

It has been a while since I handed out this kind of information.
And there are many of you who love it.  So here goes:

To learn if you have a candida (yeast) overgrowth in your body, first thing in the morning before you put anything in your mouth, spit into a glass of water.  Within 1 to 30 minutes, the spit will sink to the bottom, or grow "legs" if there is a systemic yeast overgrowth in your body.  I recently heard about a remedy called three lac which I am told by a very reliable source, will get rid of it.  This is a Japanese formulation, and can be bought on the internet.  Google three lac if interested in learning more.

Essential Oil information:  The following info comes from the "Young Living" website.

Lemon (Citrus limon) has antiseptic-like properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function. It may serve as an insect repellent.

How to use:

For dietary or topical use. As a dietary supplement, dilute one drop in 4 oz. of soy or milk or honey. May be diffused or applied on location as needed. If used topically, dilute one drop essential oil in one teaspoon vegeoil.

Melissa is one of the most powerful calming, relaxing, grounding, hope-generating, and uplifting essential oils.

It contains over 25% sesquiterpenes, and can have a profound effect on the limbic area of the brain, as well as the hypothalamus and pituitary glands, the site of growth hormone production.

Uses: for dietary or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop of oil in 4 fl. oz of liquid. Diffuse or wear Melissa oil.

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) is an oil referenced throughout the Old and New Testaments A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me .Song of Solomon 1:13). The Arabian people used it for many skin conditions, such as wrinkled, chapped, and cracked skin. It has one of the highest levels of sesquiterpenes, a class of compounds that has direct effects on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and amygdala, the seat of our emotions. Myrrh is widely used today in oral hygiene products.

How to use:

Apply topically on location or in massage. May be added to food or water as a dietary supplement.

Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) helps support the adrenal glands for increased energy. It also helps to support the nervous system and to overcome nervous fatigue.

Rose (Rosa damascena) has the highest frequency of 320 Hertz. Its beautiful fragrance is almost intoxicating and aphrodisiac-like. It helps brings balance and harmony to the body. Dr. Penoel used the oil in his clinical practice for the skin. It is stimulating and elevating to the mind, creating a sense of well-being.

How to use:

Diffuse or apply topically. Add to food or water as a dietary supplement or flavoring.

Sage (Salvia officinalis) has been used in Europe for numerous skin conditions. It has been recognized for its benefits of strengthening the vital centers and supporting metabolism. It may also help us in coping with despair and mental fatigue.

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) works as a mild disinfectant. Diffuse for a refreshing, uplifting aroma. Like many cold-pressed citrus oils, it has unique fat-dissolving characteristics.

How to use: Diffuse and apply topically. May be added to food or water as a dietary supplement.

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) has been used for centuries for skin care. Its strength lies in the ability to revitalize tissue. It is excellent for the skin, and its aromatic influence helps release negative memories.

Basil (Ocimum basilicum) can be relaxing to muscles, including smooth muscles (those not subject to our voluntary control, such as the heart and digestive system). It may also be used to soothe insect bites when applied topically. Beneficial for mental fatigue, basil may help stimulate and sharpen the sense of smell. This herb is grown and distilled at the Young Living Farms.

BodyTalk Update

I have observed some very, very surprising  healings with BodyTalk this year, more so than ever before.  Things that the allopathic community have given up on have healed by my using BodyTalk with certain of  my clients. I am consistantly amazed, impressed and humbled by what this modality can do in peoples lives as well; not just their physical bodies. One mom and teenaged son came in for 3-4 sessions each.  She had physical problems from a wreck she had as a child, and both were most unhappy living in Houston.  They prefer small towns.  Mom's physical problems were quickly alleviated, and before 6 weeks passed, they were moving.  Dad had a great new job in a small town in Georgia!  Some of these healings have occurred at a distance, too, with my having seen only a photograph of the sick client.

I continue to study/learn more about BodyTalk, having  been to Seattle, Washington, and Sarasota, Florida, this year for advanced PaRama classes.  I became certified as a PaRama BodyTalk Practitioner last April. This is the grad school level of BodyTalk, and is for people who wish to specialize.  Not everyone needs to go this far in BodyTalk, and a lot of really effective practitioners are out there with less training.  BodyTalk works its magic differently through each practitioner.

We are all very excited!  There is a BodyTalk Learning Forum in Dallas this coming February.  Mindscape, BodyTalk Modules 1 & 2, Module 3 (Consciousness), Right Brain Practical are among the offerings.  Dr. John Veltheim, the founder, will be there, and BodyTalk Vice-President, Dr. K'aimi Pipilovich from Hawaii will be there,  Todd and Angela Adkins, our instructors from Dallas, will be teaching, and from Malta the Mindscape Instructor, Kris Attard will also be present. The energy of that many superstars in one spot will be terrific, so if you have ever wanted to take BodyTalk, this would be a great time!  To learn more: www.bodytalksystem.com   Click on "Seminars" and scroll down to February.

And of course, if you want to experience a BodyTalk session yourself, I would be delighted to accommodate you.  www.houstonbodytalksystem.com      Or call me at 713.334.5486.

(And by the way, in case you do not know, I also do past life readings, soul retrievals, Tarot readings for spriritual guidance, and Reiki sessions if any of those interest you.  These can all be done at at distance.)

Blessings of the Season,

Lois J.  Wetzel
