This is a full moon at 27 degrees of Sagittarius, conjunct Pluto on the Galactic Core!  The full moon is always in the opposite sign of the sun, which is currently in Gemini.  The exact moment of the full moon is at 17:30 Universal Time, or 12:30 pm Central Time in North America, right around lunch time.  The sun will set at 7:28 pm and the moonrise is at 7:51 pm CDT.

A new moon begins a cycle; a full moon completes one!
 

Completion of a cycle is what full moons are about.  So this is a good time to finish things you have already started.  Myth reports magical/mystical phenomena around full moons. Some people get a little crazy around that time, hence the term lunatic (luna=moon). But they do not have to be crazy times for those who are more aware and deal consciously with their feelings.  The full moon does intensify feelings, so hospitals and jails see a lot of action at these times.

As you know, the tides are associated with the moon, and controlled by its phases.  And interestingly, women are more likely to go into labor during a full moon.  People born during the full moon are considered lunar types, very emotional, no matter what the rest of the planets' positions at the time of their birth are. 

On June 18, 2008, we have a full moon, called the Strawberry Moon in North America, having to do with the strawberry harvest; it is called the Rose Moon in Europe.
